The East Ely Railroad Depot Museum is a tribute to the proud railroad
and mining heritage of the Nevada Northern Railroad during a
massive mining and transportation boom at the dawn of the 20th
Century. The waiting rooms, baggage storage, and offices of one of
the nation’s most important railroads have been restored down to
the furniture and office equipment. In 2007-2008, Reyman Bros.
was tapped to further shore up the historic buildings, pouring new
foundations, modernizing the electrical and plumbing systems, and
restoring stone walls, decking, plastering, and painting for a “like
new…in 1907” appearance.
