Vista, California
Rancho Buena Vista Adobe near San Diego is one of California's fabulous land-grant ranchos. The single-story adobe brick building is built in the Monterey style, complete with a two-foot thick cobblestone foundation. In January of 2002, Reyman Bros.' team of historic restoration experts made long-overdue structural repairs to the roof, replaced the old roofing with new cedar shingles, and repaired and replaced the heavy timber posts and beams of the open-air porch. The team also tented and fumigated the building to eradicate termites and painted the interior walls and exterior woodwork to match the surrounding weathered wood.
